In the 4th, 5th and 6th rounds, held on wednesdaythe same 20 congressmen voted for Rep. Byron Donalds of Florida. is also a member of the Freedom Caucus instead of Mr. McCarthy. Donalds joined the group on the third ballot, voting for McCarthy on the first two ballots and endorsing Jordan on the subsequent ballot.
Nearly all incumbents were “dissenters.”
